Nyx is the night sky of Theros, and the home of the Gods.

Description
A paranormal realm associated with dreams and the subconscious,[1] it is a literal and proverbial night sky where the gods dwell.[2] Nyx is so closely tied to the plane's deities that, whenever they manifest, where they should be shadowed, they instead display the glorious starlight of the night sky. Dreams are seen as gifts from the gods, and so are enchantments, due to their connection with this realm; whenever mortals sleep, they are said to be "visiting Nyx". Tales of the gods can be seen played out in the constellations.[3]
Besides the Gods, Nymphs are also formed/dwell in Nyx, as do some Archons and celestial versions of earthly creatures like Elks and Crabs. All dwellers of Nyx are living enchantments, formed from the collective subconscious and by the divine will of the gods. Creatures born in Nyx are referred to as [[Nyxborn]. Their numbers have increased in recent years, as the boundaries between the night sky and the living world decreased.[4] The Gods, Nyxborn, and other items forged from Nyx are infused with Nyx, so that the night sky appears intertwined with their physical form.[2]
Like the Underworld, Nyx cannot be planeswalked to directly.[5]
Locations within Nyx
There are several distinct locations within Nyx.[6]
- Mount Hiastos
- a drifting mountain that stands out sharply against the star-filled sky of Nyx, crowned by a golden orb visible from afar. Some believe this orb is the source of Nyx's radiant colors and lights, without which the plane would be cast into eternal darkness. Several gods dwell upon its slopes: Heliod rules from a vast palace of gold and white marble, complete with a rooftop throne for receiving visitors; Purphoros forges beneath the mountain, crafting philosophies, energies, and creations beyond mortal reach; Keranos resides near the summit, unleashing lightning bolts of inspiration that shape dreams and cosmic forces; and Nylea often visits, tending a sanctuary nestled within an ancient, gnarled forest.
- Mystic Sea
- this realm of mist and water conceals countless mysteries beneath its surface — both tangible secrets born from mortal imagination and abstract concepts still taking shape. Thassa's palace rests beneath the waves, its structures enclosed within enormous bubbles that float with the ocean currents. At the water's edge, in a city of divine copper and marbleized dreams, Ephara resides.
- Nykthos
- the shrine to the gods has an astral version of itself nestled in Nyx, with altars to each god.[7]
- Tovian Fields
- Nyxborn legends wage an eternal, magnificent war here. Unlike any mortal realm, the Tovian Fields are a vast expanse of raw energies, where clashing philosophies take form as legions of legendary warriors. At the heart of this tumult stand the grand war-tents of Mogis and Iroas, who command the ceaseless conflict. Kruphix claims the borders of the Tovian Fields as his domain, not through a fixed abode, but by exerting a binding influence that contains the battle and prevents it from spreading across the rest of Nyx.
