The Wild Nacatl are the descendants of Marisi's followers, on the Alara shard of Naya.[1][2]
Description
At one time, the Leonin Nacatl were the most civilized race in Naya and the undisputed rulers of the plane. In its heyday, the Nacatl's Empire of the Clouds had an extensive system of roads, bridges, and aqueducts. But internal strife destroyed the empire. A revolutionary group known as the Claws of Marisi waged a guerrilla war, shattering the rule of law and bringing Nacatl civilization to its knees.[3] This event is still celebrated annually in the Festival of Marisi.[4]
The Wild Nacatl perceive the Cloud Nacatl as soft, and the laws of the Coil as oppressing. As such, they prefer to live more like wild animals. The wild Nacatl of the Qasali Valley were led by Jazal Goldmane. His albino brother, the planeswalker Ajani Goldmane, was also born among the Wild Nacatl.
