The Seekers of Carmot were a sect of mages on Esper that sought the mythical ingredient needed to create etherium: carmot.[1][2][3]

Description

The Seekers were one of the various factions on Alara that were manipulated by Nicol Bolas.[4][5]

The leader of the Seekers was known as the Hieresiarch and the inner circle were called the Fellows of the Arcane Council. Refusing to recognize his self-claimed genius the Seekers had said that Tidehollow scum like Tezzeret had no place among their number. When Bolas's attentions were elsewhere, Tezzeret returned to the Seekers and slew them all. The only one to escape his vengeance was seeker-adept Silas Renn.[6]
