Secret Lair Spectacular

The Secret Lair Spectacular is a tournament played at MagicCons starting in 2025, when it replaced the Secret Lair Showdown.[1]
Description
This event features a unique experience with the wild, wacky nature of Secret Lair. It is played with Modern decks. As a special action, once during your turn, you can call a judge to use your redemption challenge item to enter the Secret Lair. Entering the Secret Lair adds a specially designed deck of planechase cards to help turn the tide of the game. This variant uses all the rules for the Planechase format. These events feature several exclusive Secret Lair Prize cards only available through these events and distributed over six rounds of play. The higher ending contestants win foil versions of the same cards.[2]
List of Planechase cards
The Planechase cards designed for this stretch the definition of plane cards depicting a location on a plane to include the representation of different concepts.[3] Each plane is named after a Secret Lair Drop.[4] The cards were designed by Carmen Klomparens. Some are referencing the cards in the Secret Lairs themselves, some feature a concept that creates the feeling of the Secret Lair, and some feature inside jokes.[5]
