The Adventures of the Little Witch is a drop in the experimental Secret Lair Chaos Vault product range and a continuation of the alternate art Secret Lair Drop Series. It became available for purchase from the Wizards of the Coast webshop secretlair.wizards.com on April 22, 2025.[2]

Description

The existence of the drop was revealed when the art became available as sleeves on MTG Arena on December 10, 2024.[3]

The art by Heikala[4] may be inspired by The Adventures of the Little Witch, a children's book by Tatiana Christy about a little witch, who was born with a good heart but was taught to do evil. Heikala is an illustrator based in Tokyo. She works mainly with inks and watercolours.

Bonus cards

As an extra, the drop comes with a surprise bonus card.[6] The exact card issued is random and could include a retro frame zombie-themed card or an alternate art Seven Dwarves by Brian Chippendale.

Suggested deck

Within the product description for the drop, Wizards of the Coast included a link to a suggested Legacy decklist. At least one copy of each card in the drop is present in the deck, though the two copies of Serenity are only in the sideboard. The deck was designed by Daniel Nguyen.[7] The product description challenges customers to pilot the deck and test how successful it can be.

These reprints were individually selected to go with the art style and tone of Heikala's amazing work, and we think they turned out great. But then later, for fun, we challenged our designer to brew up the least-terrible possible Legacy deck he could using all four of them. Someone please go take down a tournament with this thing, can you imagine how hilarious that would be?

— Adventures of the Little Witch product decription[8]

The deck itself is {G}{W} with a {B} splash in the sideboard for Thoughtseize. Its build is a heavily modified version of {G}{W} Reclaimer, which aims to win the game by using Thespian's Stage's activated ability to copy Dark Depths and swing in with the resulting Marit Lage token.[9]
