The Halquina islands is an archipelago in southwestern Terisiare, which were once a large mountainous region. One of these islands features Sarraza and the River Kingdom.
History
Halquina formed the southern province of Almaaz and contrasted with the more northerly province of Sumifa. Halquina was a mountainous region with an arid climate, though not without trees.
The songmage Samor was from Halquina.[1]
The Halquina mountains lasted past the Brothers' War and through the Dark Age, but when the Ice Age started, they were buried under the Great Glacier. When the ice retreated after thousands year years, the mountains had been ground into the sea, and only some of the taller peaks remained as a set of islands south and west of the main island of Almaaz.

In the modern age, only islands remain of what was once the Halquina Mountains.
