Ehsan was a Fallaji soldier who fought on the side of Mishra in the Brothers' War.
Description
In 44 AR, Ehsan was a young soldier, no older than fourteen, who was thrust into the harsh realities of war. His demeanor was notably subdued; he was quiet and obedient, lacking the bravado or experience of the older soldiers around him. His youth and small stature contrasted sharply with the grizzled veterans he was associated with, such as Farid, Karrak, and Aiman. Ehsan’s innocence and lack of combat experience made him vulnerable in the brutal environment of the trenches and no-man's-land.[1]
History
Ehsan participated in the Tomakul Campaign in 44 AR. He was selected by Farid, Karrak, and Aiman for a covert operation due to his inconspicuous nature and lack of experience. Farid, Karrak, and Aiman needed a fourth member to maintain the appearance of a regular patrol and Ehsan was deemed suitable because of his silence and compliance. Accompanying the others out of the trench and into no-man's-land under the cover of darkness, the group sought to trade with members of the enemy. Despite his trepidation, he followed orders and climbed over the trench wall as instructed. During the meeting with the Argivian soldiers, Ehsan was mostly silent, and his interactions were limited to passive participation. He witnessed the exchange between the others, which revealed crucial information about the upcoming battle and the enemy’s preparations.[1]
Two days later, Ehsan, along with the three others, was part of the final wave of D Company, Third Tomakul Spears, preparing for a brutal assault. As the heavy bombardment ceased, the soldiers prepared to advance. Ehsan was nervous but took Farid's advice to heart: to stay close, follow his lead, and survive if separated.[1]
When the whistle blew, Ehsan and the others climbed the ladders and moved cautiously through the smoke and mud of no-man’s-land. They reached the Argivian trench to find it deserted, their bombardment having driven the enemy away. The trench was empty, with no sign of the Argivians, who had retreated further. During their search, Karrak discovered a packet containing a small piece of chocolate and a note expressing gratitude from Laria, a member of the enemy they had met during the trade of goods and information.[1]
