Antausia is a plane. Its story and geography were recorded by the scholar Valdusian Tomer and detailed in the third issue of The Duelist magazine, where it was used as a setting for a game variant similar to Planechase.[1]
Description
Antausia is a plane with few inhabitants that is seldom visited by planeswalkers.[1] It is rich in magic that is rumored by its inhabitants to be cognizant.
History
Antausia's mana-rich landscapes were exploited long ago by powerful wizards. For nearly 600 years, the Great Magus War raged on in the world.[1]
Geography
- Antausian Vortex — A maelstrom of energy believed the be the physical manifestation of the plane's magic. It is said that those who travel within are transported to the plane's other realms, though none has lived to confirm this.[1]
- Bosconius — The largest city on Antausia, holding a wide diversity within its massive walls. A rainbow constantly shines on the city, caused by the destruction of Selena Mistencharmer's Celestial Prism.[1]
- Caverns of Martuk — Caverns permeated by the spirit of the mage Martuk, which draws creatures to the caverns and increases mages' magical recall.[1]
- Farreach — A remote realm commonly used for battle to avoid civilian casualties. The plane's magic has fought back against this destruction, weakening mages in the area.[1]
- Icedale — The coldest realm in Antausia, its temperatures are rarely above freezing.[1]
- Mandrake's Mountain — Formerly called Mount Margalus, it was named after Mandrake Nightshade, who was killed on its peak by Selena Mistencharmer and Slides Stardust. The two later put a curse on the mountain to imprison him, should his spirit return.[1]
- The Open Lands — Inhabited by warriors who constructed fortifications in hopes of keeping out magi.[1]
- Beldingard — Home to pools filled with pure magical energy. Ruled by Dinitra La Croix for 80 years before she was defeated by Ignatius Firestorm and Valdusian Tomer.[1]
- Saulvinia — Lands fertile in mana. This has drawn wizards to the area, whose battles threaten to turn it into a wasteland.[1]
