Aliban was a goblin wizard and personal attendant to Koskun Keep's first goblin king, Crank.
When Crank was summoned away by a planeswalker, and Aliban was the only survivor of the Goblin upper class to survive the Great War. He thus became the second goblin king. He created Aliban's Towers, and his descendants also learned the spell. [1]
Given that hundreds of years have passed since his natural lifetime, it is likely that Aliban is long dead.
