Yargle is a gluttonous Frog Spirit that haunts Dominarian Urborg.[1]
History
Belzenlok's lieutenant Yar-Kul became too ambitious and was transformed into a maggot by the demon lord. That maggot was eaten by a frog, which later grew into Yargle.[1]
Yargle was the first defense of the Stronghold when the Skyship Weatherlight attacked the Cabal.[2] He was in turn dragged back into the swamp by Muldrotha.[3]
Muldrotha's communications with her creator Multani convinced him that there was some merit in the dark magic of Urborg. When New Phyrexia invaded Dominaria as part of their Invasion of the Multiverse, the ancient maro-sorcerer shaped himself into wooden armor around Yargle so they could defend the plane together.
