Sedgemoor is a vast bayou surrounding the Witherbloom campus of Strixhaven University on Arcavios. It is home to a variety of strange swamp creatures, including undead animals, crocodilian beasts, trudges, and bogroffs, many of which exhibit eerie necroluminescence. The swamp is a rich source of magical components such as herbs, fungi, spider silk, and pests used in potions and spells. Although it can be treacherous, Sedgemoor is a frequent site for student expeditions and fieldwork.
Description
Encompassing the entirety of Witherbloom College's campus, Sedgemoor is a wild and marshy expanse of shallow waters, islets, and towering fungi.[1] The swamp teems with wildlife both natural and supernatural, including decomposing bayoustriders, marsh-dwelling bogroffs, and giant bats. Necroluminescent undead give the swamp an otherworldly glow at night, making it as beautiful as it is unsettling. While hazardous terrain, venomous creatures, and patches of quicksand pose challenges, Sedgemoor is considered a routine and essential training ground for Witherbloom students gathering field materials.
