The Order's Citadel was the primary city for the northern branch of the Order, located in the Northern Plains of Otaria, on the plane of Dominarian.
Description
The Order's Citadel was a massive conglomeration of stone. The castle itself was on top of a rocky hill, the only visible road to the gates exposed to attack from above for its entire length. Double stone walls reinforced with dozens of towers enclosed the top of the mesa. The central keep was less martial, and the fineness of the stone work contrasted with the crudely worked blocks of the outer walls. But however brilliant the white rock appeared, there were still bars on the windows. There was a town at the base of the hill, tucked between the living rock and a stream flowing down from the north. The slate roofs of the tall houses nearly hid the cobblestone streets. The avenues looked crowded, and wagons and tents lay in the town squares. The courtyard that the Order's griffins roosted in was clear of any but Order officials.[1]
History
During the Battle for the Mirari in 4305 AR, Captain Pianna brought Laquatus and Turg to the Order's Citadel to witness the reprimanding of Lieutenant Kirtar following the aven officer's indiscriminate attack on the wildlife of Krosa. Kirar carried the Mirari, and when Pianna tried to destroy it, Kirtar encased her in an expanding crystal, killing her. However, the spell grew out of control, encasing more and more of the area at the expense of Kirtar's life force. Kamahl, trailing the others in search of the entrancing orb, entered the citadel amid some amount of mayhem, and saw a severely weakened Kirtar being carried away by his aven soldiers, still clutching the Mirari. He was unable to reach it due to the efforts of Laquatus and Turg, who intercepted the Mirari on the roof of the citadel, leaving Kirtar alone to wither away into nothing as the crystal grew to encapsulate half of the citadel, but stopping short of reaching the surrounding city.[1]
