Firejolt Café is located in the southern section of the Central Campus

Firejolt Café is a lively and popular café located at the edge of the Archway Commons on Strixhaven's Central Campus. It serves as a favored gathering spot for students to study, socialize, and enjoy coffee or tea. The café is renowned for its signature fire-infused drink, the Firejolt latte, brewed exclusively by the elven manager, Ellina Tanglewood.[1]

Description

Firejolt Café's interior is bright and clean, with walls adorned by charming, cartoonish murals animated by permanent illusion magic. Popular scenes include a jovial frog wizard stirring a cauldron, a dancing trio of lightning bolts with grinning faces, and a raven in a cravat sipping coffee. The ceilings soar twenty feet high, adding to the airy, open atmosphere. The café's main spaces include tiered study tables with magically reshaping steps for accessibility, a bustling barista station, sociable seating areas, and quieter rooms for focused study. Fireplaces lit by a continual flame spell provide warmth in the Fireside Lounge, where students can relax comfortably on sofas and armchairs.

At night, the café is locked and sealed by an arcane lock spell known only to certain faculty and Ellina, ensuring security when the campus is quiet.

Notable locations

Locations on the map are marked with a letter and number

  • Barista Station (F3) — managed by the elven mage Ellina Tanglewood, this hectic counter serves coffee and tea in many forms. Ellina works alongside five senior student baristas — one representing each college — and occasionally hires interested younger students. The Firejolt latte — a magical beverage granting resistance to fire for one minute — can only be brewed by Ellina using her fire magic.
  • Fireside Lounge (F5) — a quieter and more comfortable area with sofas and armchairs warmed by continual flame-lit fireplaces. Around twenty students usually study or relax here.
  • Newsstand (F4) — a small shop offering magic-themed magazines, posters, stickers, and knick-knacks. Magazines include titles such as "Mages Monthly", "Potions! Potions! Potions!", and "Spells and Caster". The newsstand is staffed by barista employees and sometimes closes when the café is busy.
  • Quiet Rooms (F6) — designed for focused work, these rooms feature large tables and functional chairs. Up to ten students typically study here in silence.
  • Seating Area (F2) — this open space often holds over fifty students sitting in groups, chatting, sipping tea or coffee, or waiting in line at the barista station.
  • Study Tables (F1) — two raised tiers of long wooden benches are connected by magic steps that adjust to ensure accessibility. About thirty students usually study quietly here during the day.
