Aether Revolt is the 73^rd Magic expansion, and the second in the Kaladesh block. It will be released on January 20, 2017, and is a small expansion.

Set details

Aether Revolt contains 184 cards (presumably 70 commons, 60 uncommons, 42 rares, 12 mythic rares) and includes randomly inserted premium versions of all cards. The expansion symbol is a Far Eastern inspired floral motive, representing the aether of the plane.

A revolt takes place on Kaladesh.

The cards that represent the Story Spotlights in Aether Revolt are: TBA, TBA, TBA, Battle at the Bridge and TBA.

Marketing

Aether Revolt is sold in 16-card boosters (one card being a marketing card), two planeswalker decks and the Aether Revolt bundle. The boosters feature artwork from Ajani Unyielding, TBA, and TBA.

Kaladesh Inventions

Kaladesh Inventions are all premium foil cards with a special Kaladeshi card frame and a separate expansion symbol. Thus, they are not part of the set. Kaladesh Inventions are all artifacts, include all new art and flavor text set on Kaladesh and appear slightly more often than premium mythic rares. These cards are playable in limited and formats where they are already legal. 30 Invention cards appeared with Kaladesh and 24 in Aether Revolt.
