Varena was one of the best fighters in the House of Fentesk in Kush on Dominaria. She was a lean, angular woman with flowing red hair.
Varena was tasked by her House Master to test Garth's power, then quickly became his lover and friend; this caused a relation of strange friendship and rivalry with Norreen. She helped rescue Garth from Zarel's prison. In the last match of the festival, she was paired against Garth, who was forced to kill her. Luckily, she was revived by Hammen.
She survived the Time of Troubles, having helped Garth, and became the new Grand Master of the Arena.[1]
