The War of the Spark Restoration of the High King War of the Gods

The Restoration of the High King is an event that happened on the plane of Eldraine in the year 4560 AR, when Algenus Kenrith was returned to the throne after having been transformed into a stag by the planeswalker Oko, reuniting the fractured Realm and leading to the ignition of Rowan and Will Kenrith's shared planeswalker spark.

Description

After Algenus was abducted and cursed into beast form, Queen Linden Kenrith struggled to maintain unity among the five courts, while threats from the Wilds grew bolder. Upon turning eighteen, the royal twins set out to find their father, guided by visions from the Magic Mirror Indrelon. Along the way, they uncovered the truth of Oko's manipulation and the fragile balance between the Realm and the Wilds. Along the way, they encountered the cursed form of Garruk, who had become enthralled by Oko, who called him "Dog". Will saw the pure form of Garruk inside and spent considerable effort and almost lost his life to save Garruk from drowning. Pushing the huntmaster's unconscious form into the lost Cauldron of Eternity. The Cauldron revived Garruk and cured him of the Chain Veil's curse.[1]

The final confrontation took place during the Wild Hunt at the remote cottage where the twins had been born. The enchanted stag was killed by Oko, transformed to appear as Queen Ayara, in the hope of inciting war between the Realm and the Wilds. The stag's death ended the Hunt's ritual by letting the Wild Hunt drink of his blood, and the renewed Garruk and the royal scions Rowan and Will Kenrith caught Oko. Before he could be put to trial, though, he planeswalked away. Despite him leaving the plane, the High King's stag form held fast until he bled out, and Algenus's human form was revealed. However, with the help of his Questing Sword and Linden's intervention, he was brought back to life.[1]

The emotional shock of learning the truth about their hexed origins and their witch birth mother caused the Kenrith twins' latent spark to ignite, and they planeswalked away from Eldraine. With the High King restored and Oko exiled, peace returned to the Realm — at least for a time.[1]
