Story

Summary

Delverhaugh

The feud between dwarves and redcaps began long ago with a dispute over a spoon, though it had raged for so long that no one could quite recall how it started.[1]

A large group of dwarves attended the Grand Ball at Delverhaugh, in addition to the humans Ash, Goddric, and Maurice. When redcaps raided the party, Ash and Goddric defended their hosts, with the latter revealing his draconic nature in the process.[2] With no time to gather weapons, the dwarves fought the redcaps with anything within reach, beginning a massive food fight.[3] At the stroke of midnight, Ash fled the party, dropping her helmet in the escape.[4]

For slaying dozens of redcaps using only fruit and cakes, the dwarven survivors were dubbed the Gluttoneers.[5]
