Primal Clay was a technology pressed into service on Argive's side of the Brothers' War of Dominaria. The clay was discovered by Tawnos and was used in the creation of clay statues.[1][2]

Clay statues

Artifacts known as Clay Statues were artificial creatures used as weapons by Argive during the Brothers' War on Dominaria.[1] Clay statues stand nine feet tall, though they are often found sitting cross-legged. They are a dull bronze color with almond eyes.[3]

History

The clay statues were created by Tawnos from primal clay.[4][2] They utilized an unusual tactic - although looking like many other constructs of the war, their clay surfaces were moldable and could surprisingly entrap the enemies' weapons and even limbs in the clay as the statues finished their owners off.[5]

Over 3000 years later, Greensleeves summoned a clay statue after her brother Gull discovered one on an island.[3] The Tolarian Academy housed some clay statues in the Hall of Artifact Creatures. When K'rrik's Phyrexian forces invaded, Barrin activated them as part of the academy's defenses.[6]
