Bloomburrow: Difference between revisions
>Nera Buvelle (Tentatively adding the characters spoiled during Magiccon to Mabel's party.) |
>Nera Buvelle (Changing the typals of Bloomburrow deserves its own talk page, but the recent cited blogatog articles confirmed that animals in Mabel's party do NOT confirm that their typal is a draft archetype. As such, moving Bats into Orzhov as per previous cards likely hint at this. Dimir is anyone's guess, but the most prevalent "animal" typal in those colours in standard is rats, so I'm tentatively putting that. Also, Rats were mentioned on the linked WPN page.) |

Bloomburrow is the 101st Magic expansion. It will be released on August 2, 2024.[2]
Set details
“ | Tiny Tails, Big Adventure! | ” |
Bloomburrow is set on the plane of Bloomburrow, a world of cute anthropomorphic animals with no humans in it. This world is full of squirrels, frogs, mice, and rabbits, showing that even the smallest creatures can have a big impact. The animals have an advanced culture and are the main characters of the set. They wear clothing, talk, and wield magic. Much like Segovia, foreign Planeswalkers are changed when 'walking to here; in Bloomburrow's case, human Planeswalkers are transformed into anthropomorphic animals like the local races while here. It's unknown if traveling here by Omenpath will transform oneself, or if only humans are affected.
Bloomburrow contains 281 regular cards (20 mythic rares), and includes randomly inserted traditional foil versions of all cards. The regular cards include 20 full-art "Seasonal" basic lands (#262-281). Alternate card frames have a different number than the original version. The Showcase "Woodland" cards are #TBA-TBA, Borderless cards are #TBA-TBA, Showcase Borderless "Fieldnotes" cards are #TBA-TBA and Raised foil borderless anime cards are #TBA-TBA. Extended art cards and #TBA-TBA and the promos are #TBA-TBA.
The Imagine: Courageous Critters showcase treatment invites you to envision renowned Planeswalkers and creatures were they to visit the plane of Bloomburrow (#TBA-TBA).[3]
Templating change
Starting with this set, the phrase Enters the battlefield is shortened to "Enters".[4]
Storyline
Bloomburrow is the first set in the Dragonstorm Arc. A ragtag team of anthropomorphic adventurers must band together to go on an important quest to save the realm from elemental calamity beasts and the Great-Night Owl.[3][5] Glarb, the King of Frogfolk and a powerful wizard, is said to have insights about the calamity beasts. It is now to Mabel and her colorful companions Gev, Hugs, Finneas, and Zoraline to redeem their world.
Marketing
Bloomburrow is available in Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, the Bloomburrow Bundle, four Commander decks and a Starter Kit. It is the last set to be printed in the Chinese (Simplified) language.[6]
