Maha, also known as the Great-Night Owl[1], the Night Owl,[2] and the Eclipse Owl,[3] is the leader of the calamity beasts on Bloomburrow. She is an antagonist in the Dragonstorm Arc.
Description
Maha is enormous, her wingspan as broad as the branches of an oak tree. Deep blue and violet on her belly, breast, and wings transition to black-striped primary and tail feathers. Turquoise magic suffuses her beautiful, terrible form, lightning up her eyes and beak within the hollow of her face, and highlighting her deadly talons. In her wake, night follows, cutting across the sky to reveal star-flecked darkness beneath. The beast's movements are completely quiet, its passing marked only by the ensuing destruction and the chill wind of her wings.[4]
Storyline
In around 4564 AR, Maha attacked and destroyed the village of Pondside, causing chaos and panic among the residing animalfolk. Debris caught fire, which spread to other buildings.[4] All that is left of Pondside are burnt and splintered ruins.[5]
The stolen egg of the Great-Night Owl plays an elemental role in the story of Bloomburrow. Maha brings chaos and upheaval to the realm of Bloomburrow and is sought to be stopped by Mabel and her companions.
