Cragflame is a magical artifact sword on the plane of Bloomburrow.[1]

Description

Cragflame is crafted from a massive tooth of the Wildfire Wolf, honed down to a size manageable for little folk.[2] It has a sigil-etched, curved blade that is sharpened on both edges, tapering to a wicked point. The hilt is simple, and cord-wrapped, while the pommel is carved into the shape of a dancing flame.

When used, a sheen of flame ripples along the sword, sigils on the blade give off a reddish light, and a magical warmth imbues its wielder.[2] Its enchanted flames can be called upon by its wielder in times of need, and it is known to burn those who try to steal it to ashes.

History

Cragflame was first known to be wielded by Lily of the Valley, who used it to drive the Calamity Beasts far away from Valley.[2] Since then, it has been passed down through generations of members of the Order of the Holly Leaf.[3] It was passed through Mabel's great-great-grandmother through to her mother, Iris, and eventually to Mabel.[2]

Around 4564 AR, Mabel used the blade in defense of Valley against the Calamity Beasts.[2]
