Alchemy: New Capenna is a MTG Arena-exclusive card set that was released on June 2, 2022. It is the third set in the Alchemy-series.[4]
Description
Alchemy: New Capenna is a digital only release adjacent to the release of Streets of New Capenna. There are 30 new designed-for-digital cards included in the set (10 uncommons, 15 rares, 5 mythic rares). All of the cards are set on New Capenna. The distribution of rarities in Alchemy: New Capenna has changed from previous Alchemy sets with more uncommons and fewer rares. Players can also collect the set for the first time through Alchemy Premier Draft, where a common is replaced with an Alchemy card. Alchemy cards also received a fresh look to make the "A" "foil stamp" for Alchemy at the central bottom of the card visually distinct from the MTG Arena "A" logo.[4] The set features the A22 expansion symbol.

Trivia
- The printing of Racketeer Boss in Alchemy: New Capenna lead to the banning of Grinning Ignus in Alchemy; the only card to ever be banned in that format.[5] Racketeer Boss could combo with Grinning Ingus to generate an infinite storm count, an infinite number of cast and enters the battlefield triggers for creatures and an infinite number of enters the battlefield triggers for artifacts.[6] Due to Grinning Ingus having a mana ability that returned it to its owners hand, the combo was extremely difficult to disrupt and subsequently warped the Alchemy format. Digital play deign assessed rebalancing Grinning Ingus but found that any change would eliminate the combo in the same way as banning Grinning Ingus and thus banning was the correct option.[7] Racketeer Boss was subsequently rebalanced itself to remove the repeateable Treasure creation.[8]
