FNM at Home

FNM at Home was a series of Magic events run by Wizards of the Coast through Magic: The Gathering Arena to help keep players connected to Magic during the lockdown periods of the COVID-19 pandemic[1]. FNM at Home events replaced the earlier Feldon's Workshop series on Arena. The first event was run on March 27, 2020 and the final event occurred July 2, 2021.[2]
Description
In place of true Friday Night Magic events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Magic: The Gathering Arena had weekly events each Friday with several different formats.[3] There were no entry fees for the event and players were awarded two rare Standard individual card rewards (ICRs), alongside a cosmetics code that could be redeemed from a local game store (LGS).[4] While initially opening at midnight Friday Pacific standard time (PST), the event opening time was eventually shifted to 7 pm Thursday PST in recognition that PST was effectively the last time zone to reach Friday. This made the event more convenient for non-American players.

Midweek Magic
By July 2021, in-store play began opening up in many American states, which meant that regular FNM could go forward.[22] The event was kept, but changed to a Tuesday to Thursday event and renamed Midweek Magic. The first new event, Future Precons, was held from July 13 to 15, 2021[2][23]. Prizes remained the same. The cosmetics code was eventually folded into the event as the third prize.
