Murders at Karlov Manor coincided with a series of puzzles across various media. Magic: The Gathering Arena also had some riddles, but most were simple text puzzles. After enough codes were entered, a phantom preconstructed Brawl event was opened from March 19 to 27, 2024.[1][2] It had five card styles as prizes and eleven Brawl decks.

Description

At least ten of the eleven event decks had come from previous preconstructed Brawl events. The eleventh, Valki, God of Lies, appears to be the only new deck.

“  Welcome! We were not expecting guests, but as long as you are here, you should pull up a chair!

This is the place where Decks end up after their Event ends on Arena. You never know what might end up down here.

Play as much as you like, but only the first few wins will provide a reward!

One last thing: Please don't go putting in just any random text into that Code Redemption box; we don't want it getting overloaded. We have not needed to fix it since the Year the set Ravnica: City of Guilds was released.

 ”

Totally Normal Event had a series of curiosities that suggested a deeper puzzle: out-of-place capitalization, color imbalance amongst deck choices, mismatched cosmetics in exactly one deck (Galazeth Prismari), and a cue to enter a code. Attempting to use "2005" (the release date of Ravnica: City of Guilds, as mentioned in the description) was met with a Red Herring reward. No confirmation as to whether this collection of clues means anything has been released, nor has there been much media attention on anyone having solved this puzzle.

Event decks

The decks were taken from the following events:

Yargle Day

The format for the second Yargle Day! event in 2021 was Historic Brawl. There were five decks, only one of which was commanded by Yargle, Glutton of Urborg. Two of the others, Zalto, Fire Giant Duke and Zilortha, Strength Incarnate, were playable in the Totally Normal Event.
