Eldraine Courtside Brawl was a phantom preconstructed event held from September 4 to 9, 2019 on Magic: The Gathering Arena[1][2].
Description
The Courtside Brawl event previewed the four Throne of Eldraine Brawl decks a month before their physical release on October 4, 2019. It was the first Brawl event on Arena.
“ | Be the first to play Throne of Eldraine in this special event, using one of four preconstructed decks in our newest format, Brawl![2] | ” |
Two decks were changed from the printed versions, replacing multiplayer-focused cards with alternatives more suited for one-versus-one gameplay.
Event Decks
Faerie Schemes
A deck with an artifact and enchantment strategy. It was designed by Jeremy Geist.
“ | This deck has more of a mix of synergy and power. The combos are less obvious, and there are lots of things to discover. It uses the artifact and enchantment theme from ELD and has a light flying theme as well. | ” |
Commander (1)
Creatures (7)
Artifacts (14)
Enchantments (7)
1 Frogify
Knights' Charge
A Knight Typal deck with a focus on equipment designed by Stephanie Schelble. Embereth Skyblazer and Silverwing Squadron from the physical deck were replaced with Shivan Dragon and Tajic, Legion's Edge on Arena[3].
“ | For the player who wants to play creatures and attack. This deck is easier to play than the others. It's all about Knights and Equipment. | ” |
Savage Hunter
A with a food theme designed by Henry Davis. The deck's name was misspelt on Arena, it should have been Savage Hunger. The multiplayer focused Gluttonous Troll and Chittering Witch from the physical deck were replaced with Mask of Immolation and Izoni, Thousand-Eyed in the event[3].
“ | This deck for Johnny players has lots of obvious synergy and combos. It uses the Food mechanic from ELD and sacrifices permanents for value. | ” |
Wild Bounty
A deck with an Adventure theme designed by Emma Handy.
“ | A "Spikier" deck that has less synergy but a higher power level. We wanted to use the new Adventure mechanic from Throne of Eldraine, so this deck is about ramping, casting lots of creatures and spells, and rebuying your creatures to get multiple uses out of them. | ” |
