The Worlds XXVII Showcase was a phantom preconstructed event held on Magic: The Gathering Arena between October 8 to 11, 2021[1][2]. There were ten Standard decks available to be played in the event, as six players were using identical deck lists. Each deck belonged to a player competing in the 2021 World Championship (World Championship XXVII) and represented seven different archetypes. The showcase matches were best-of-one, rather than the best-of-three used in the World Championships, which meant the sideboard cards were not included with the phantom decks.

The Standard format at the time consisted of 5 sets: Zendikar Rising, Kaldheim, Strixhaven, Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, and Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. One card was banned: Omnath, Locus of Creation.

Azorius Tempo

A White manaBlue mana tempo deck. Only one player, Noriyuki Mori, played this archetype at the tournament.

Grixis Epiphany

A Blue manaBlack manaRed mana deck built around Alrund's Epiphany that adds Black mana for anti-control elements. Four players — Eli Kassis, Gabriel Nassif, Jan-Moritz Merkel and Matt Sperling — played an identical decklist.

Gruul Aggro

Only one player, Jean-Emmanuel Depraz, played this archetype at the tournament. Despite using the Ravnican guild naming convention, this deck was actually Red manaGreen manaBlue mana. It splashed blue for two copies of Negate mainboard and two Disdainful Stroke in the sideboard. (Which wasn't part of this event)

Arne Huschenbeth also played no creatures but had more red removal (notably two Burning Hands in the main) in his version of the deck.

A mono-green aggro deck. Three players played two versions of this archetype.

Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa and Sam Pardee

Sam Pardee and defending Champion Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa played identical decklists.

Mono-White Aggro

A mono-white aggro deck. Two players, Rei Sato and Yoshihiko Ikawa, played an identical version of this archetype.
