Semifinalist Ross Sclafani played a control deck built about Land Tax and the cards Sunstone and Glacial Crevasses. An approximation of Sclafani's decklist was published by Brian David-Marshall on Usenet after the event. Future Hall of Fame player Steven O'Mahoney-Schwartz also reportedly played this deck in New York.[2]

“ | “I played blue-white control with two Orders, two Blinking Spirits, two Serra Angels and Mishras for creatures,” said the first-class Hall of Famer.[5] | ” |
