Description
The design of the Temporal Anchor was based upon Urza's designs for the time machine that had sent Karn back in time, given to Saheeli by Jodah.[2] To avoid physical damage, Kaya used her powers to extend her ghostform over Teferi and make him incorporeal during his travels.[3] By extracting his spirit and casting that back, it was thought that Teferi would be unable to interact with the past while remaining able to observe.[3]
The machine consists of a platform with leather straps and wires within a sculpture of swooping curves made of fiery orange metal.[4] The anchor is powered by the Powerstone that was removed from the Weatherlight after its compleation.[5] This power source had originally been infused by Urza with the white mana from Serra's Realm.
