Revision as of 19:18, 6 December 2014

One of the five basic lands, Forest provides green mana, which is required to cast all green spells. Forest is also a basic land type which provides the ability to tap for green mana. Outside cycles such as Dual lands, green is the only color to have lands with its respective basic land type, thus providing the ability to search for them, for example with Fetch lands. Only two lands have been printed so far with the basic land type forest while other cards, even the same cycle, did not have the respective land types: Dryad Arbor (from Future Sight and Murmuring Bosk from Morningtide. Song of the Dryads from Commander 2014 can turn permanents into colorless Forest lands.

Additionally there is a snow variant, the Snow-Covered Forest.
