Havenwood was a tremendous forest south of the Sarpadian Mountains, reaching the northern coast of Sarpadia on the plane of Dominaria.

History

Havenwood lay north of Icatia and the town of Montford. It was home to a vast elven empire, and also the abode of the planeswalker Tev Loneglade. The elves, Thelon, Loren, and Morgan among them, lived in many isolated fortress-like villages throughout the forest, and bred fungal creatures known as thallids. The crown of the elven empire was within the Hightrunk Chamber.[1]

Populated primarily by hunters and druids, the farmers and hunters armed themselves and served as militia when trouble arose. Thelon, a powerful druid, learned to create creatures out of fungus called thallids which produced saprolings. These creatures were used as a food source when crops began to wither, but they soon grew sentient and, vastly outnumbering the elves, crushed the elven empire in a single day. By the time of the rift crisis, the thallids were the only sentient beings on the continent besides the thrulls.[2]

Long after the fall of Sarpadia, the Foulmere was inhabited by a tiny people called the Eub Hlut. The Naturalist Peter Langwynd believed them descended from the wood gnomes of ancient Havenwood, displaced by the thallids that vanquished the sylvan communities of that epoch.[3]
