Information
Plane Dominaria
Type Forest
Part of Oneah, the Domains

Shanodin is the southwestern forested region on the island of Oneah[1] in the eastern Domains.[2][3]

Description

Shanodin lies west of the elven forest of Savaea, and southwest of the Red Mountains. Far to the north lies Amjad. Shanodin is located south of where the nation of Oneah used to be before it was destroyed by goblins. In the forest, dryad lives, and they are fairly common within its borders, though they only reveal themselves to outsiders when they wish. Little is known of the forest at large, for few who enter here survive, and those who do cannot bear to speak of their experiences.

In the center of the forest lies the Heart of Shanodin, a deep glade surrounded by a wall of brambles, so rich in trees that there are no clearings to the sky. The Heart has the unique power to reveal one's inner self.[4]

History

Around 3700 AR, a few Shanodin villages were transported to Rath by steward Davvol. In response, Yavimaya sent Multani to investigate the cause and effects on the forest.

After the Fall of Oneah a few centuries later, Shanodin saw several Oneahn refugees passing through its woods in search of a new home.[4]
