Agnomakhos was the most notable of the Archon tyrants of Theros, who in ancient times held a massive empire. They tyrannised the world in the belief that they were imposing a strict justice. Agnomakhos used the leonin as an army. Eventually, the Archon empire fell, being instead replaced by the poleis. Agnomakhos was killed by the citizens of Meletis.[1]
The kings Kynaios and Tiro lead the rebellion against Agnomakhos due to their love of freedom and for each other.[2]
