The Sliver Lair was the home of the Sliver Queen and her brood, nesting in the air ducts of the Hub on the plane of Rath.
Description
The Sliver Lair was a series of connected caves, ducts, shafts, tunnels, and passages uncomfortably reminiscent of intestines. In the deepest part of the lair the Sliver Queen had her hive, and her brood swarmed all over the tunnels, which connected to the surface of the Cinder Marsh via giant exhaust vents which brought the warm air of the Furnace of Rath out. The slivers thrived in the warm climate and winding passages, evolving many different abilities that they shared amongst each other.[1]
History
In 4204 AR, the Skyship Weatherlight passed through the Sliver Lair on the way to the Stronghold. They entered one of the large, inactive exhaust vents in the Cinder Marsh and descended through the many bends and corners until they came to a larger cavern where the slivers swarmed them. After realizing the critters spread their abilities only to other nearby slivers, the Weatherlight Crew split apart, forcing the slivers to spread out and thus weaken them enough to be able to pass through the tunnels.[1]
The Sliver Lair was destroyed when the Rathi Overlay placed it in the heart of a volcano. [2]
