The City of Traitors was the home of those formerly of the Kor, Vec, and Dal, who had left their people behind and come to serve the Evincar of Rath.
Description
Situated directly beneath the Stronghold, the City of Traitors was a ring-shaped settlement tucked close to the central pillar of molten flowstone in the middle of the Hub. Although warmth and shelter were guaranteed, the city was nevertheless an unsafe place, as the whims of the Evincar were never predictable, and the city provided a source of people to abduct for the Evincar's terrible experiments and torments. Counted as traitors to their peoples, the inhabitants of the City of Shadows received names bearing il in front of their original tribe, such as the case with Greven il-Vec, Starke il-Vec, and Vhati il-Dal.[1]
History
During the Rathi Overlay, the City of Traitors was at the epicenter and did not align with Dominaria. Many of its inhabitants were caught between the two worlds, similarly to what had happened with the Thalakos, Soltari, and Dauthi before them.[2]
