The Cinder Marsh was a nasty area of the plane of Rath.
Description
The Cinder Marsh was where the Stronghold’s furnaces were exhausted, a nasty mix of sludge and ash. It heaved like something alive, and from time to time, a sparkling shower sprayed across its surface. The sludge was punctuated by chimney-like growths that occasionally spouted ash and gobbets of molten metal - exhaust vents. Some things lived there, but they were crawling beasts. They were not dangerous as long as one could keep off the ground. The exhaust vents, a few of them wide enough to admit the Skyship Weatherlight, allowed entry into the Hub, where the Stronghold lay.[1]
History
In 4204 AR, the Skyship Weatherlight passed through the Cinder Marsh on the way to the Stronghold. They entered one of the large, inactive exhaust vents without incident and lowered themselves into the bowels of the ground below. There, the slivers swarmed them.[1]
During the Rathi Overlay, Cinder Marsh was shifted to Dominaria, but it is not known where it ended up or if it was destroyed in the process.
