No mana is in many regards the opposite of zero mana, as it denotes a cost which cannot be paid. Both have however a mana value of 0.
Any non-land cards with a non-existing mana cost cannot be played unless they have an alternative cost that can be paid, including "casting without paying its mana cost".
Mechanics

- Evermind — can only be spliced
These cards are the second-most common recipient of color indicators after double-faced cards, since they have no mana cost to define their colors.
Conspiracy and Dungeon cards also have no mana cost, but they are not permanents or spells and are only ever in the Command zone, making corner cases of being cast less relevant.

- Entirely Normal Armchair — must be hidden on the battlefield
- Standard Procedure — becomes a different card.
Attraction and Contraption cards also do not have mana costs. They are however part of respective side decks that use a different method to be put onto the battlefield.
