| Card | Throwback to: | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ashling's Command | The original Commands from Lorwyn | |
| Bitterbloom Bearer | Bitterblossom (Morningtide) | |
| Champion cycle | Champion | These creatures can force you to exile a creature you control, like cards with the champion mechanic, but they use behold, making them more versatile. |
| Elemental Incarnations | The Incarnations from Lorwyn | The mechanic of caring about the type of colored mana spent to cast the spell is also a callback to the hybrid modal spells (e.g. Firespout) from Shadowmoor and Eventide. |
| Glen Elendra Guardian | Glen Elendra Archmage (Eventide) | |
| Figure of Fable | Figure of Destiny (Eventide) | |
| Hexing Squelcher | Vexing Shusher (Shadowmoor) | |
| Lluwen, Imperfect Naturalist | Worm Harvest (Eventide) | |
| Mornsong Aria | Maralen of the Mornsong (Morningtide) | |
