Avatar: The Last Airbender Jumpstart is a supplemental Magic booster set in the Jumpstart series, with mostly reprints and some new cards. It will be released on November 21, 2025, concurrently with the Avatar: The Last Airbender set.[2][3]

Description

Expansion symbol for Avatar: The Last Airbender Eternal

Avatar: The Last Airbender Jumpstart is part of the Jumpstart series. The Jumpstart format mashes together themes from throughout the history of the game and lets you skip the deckbuilding part. To play a game of Jumpstart, players open two half-deck packs of twenty cards and shuffle them together to form a ready-to-play deck. The set is designed for two-player gameplay, but players can also play multiplayer with it.

Avatar Jumpstart is a Commander-, Legacy-, and Vintage-legal set, and individual cards are also legal where already available in other formats. They feature the TLE expansion code (Avatar: The Last Airbender Eternal) and the Avatar Glider expansion symbol. New cards are numbered TLE #74-150, reprints are TLE #151-170 and extended art cards are TLE #171-209.

Multiple packs contain hybrid cards, which add flexibility when the second color appears in the other chosen pack.

Due to a late production change, the white card Glider Kids appears in two blue Jumpstart Booster themes — Adaptive and Lessons (1) — making it uncastable unless you happen to get a white Jumpstart Booster theme to go with it. Players who encounter this error are encouraged to either treat Glider Kids as if it's castable with blue mana or discard it and draw the next card.[3]

Marketing

Avatar Jumpstart is sold in 20-card Jumpstart Boosters, with 24 boosters per booster box. Each booster contains a face card (the "Pack Summary card", or "Theme insert") that indicates the pack's theme and color. The set is also sold in 2-Booster Packs ("2-Packs").

The contents of each pack fit one of 46 randomly chosen themes, with each theme having a "rarity" of common, rare, or mythic rare. Common themes have two variations of their pack contents, meaning that there are 66 possible pack contents. All boosters contain at least one rare or mythic rare. Within each pack, seven or eight of the pack's 20 cards are lands, and the rest are spells.

Note that the packs and themes differ from the 10 Jumpstart packs that can be found in the Avatar: The Last Airbender Beginner Box.

Themes and mechanics

The 46 themes range from the familiar to the curious. Common themes are each represented twice in different variations among the 61 packs and rare and mythic themes are represented only once. The rarity of a given pack should not be taken as an indication of power level, but rather how replayable the theme is. The variant decklists of a given theme always have the same general flavor, mana curve, and game plan.
