Talion, the "Kindly Lord," is a nonbinary faerie noble serving as the Fae Lord of the Wilds of Eldraine.[1][2]
Description
They have gold-colored eyes and carry a hawthorn wand.[3][4] While they are the ruler of all Eldraine's fae, they also serve as the mysterious protector of all of Eldraine's people.
History
Before the Phyrexian invasion of Eldraine, Talion returned from a long trip.[5][6] They were forced to join with the witch sisters Agatha, Eriette, and Hylda to create the Wicked Slumber, a curse which now affects their whole world.[4] In exchange for helping to cast the Slumber, Talion provided each of the witches with a magical artifact that enhanced their powers: Agatha's Vile Cauldron, Eriette's Charmed Apple, and Hylda's Icy Crown.[6] After Eriette extended the curse to Eldraine's citizens, they tasked the knight Imodane to kill the three witches. When she failed due to being caught by Agatha, Talion handed the task over to the half-fae Kellan, promising him information about his fae father.[3] Kellan eventually succeeded in the quest, though he declined his reward.[7]
