Race Rat
Birthplace Eldraine
Lifetime Died c. 4563[1]

Lord Skitter was a demonic Rat noble from Eldraine.

Description

Skitter was the king of the rats located deep within the ancient dwarven ruins beneath the town of Edgewall. He was an enormous rat empowered by fiendish blood, giving him supernatural strength, wicked cunning, and the ability to speak.[2]

Inspiration

Skitter may be based on the Mouse King of "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King."

History

Deep within the ruins beneath Edgewall, a human minstrel named Totentanz encountered Lord Skitter.[2] Skitter convinced the Human outcast Totentanz that the human world would fall, promising him wicked powers in exchange for luring the townsfolk of Edgewall into the sewers to become food for Skitter's brood. When the bard agreed to join the rat king, Skitter gifted him a magic pipe.[3]

Totentanz led droves of hapless Edgewall citizens into the undercity with his music.[1] Lord Skitter and his brood grew in power, and eventually rats swarmed the city. At first, the people of Edgewall were outwitted by Lord Skitter. Eventually, they banded together, stole Totentanz's pipe, and stormed the sewers, twisting its wicked magic back onto Lord Skitter and Totentanz, causing them to be devoured by their rat horde. Without a leader, the rats of Edgewall returned to their ordinary ways, though no one knows if Lord Skitter is truly gone for good.
