The Flarg is a cluster of mountains in the northern part of the Balduvian Steppe, part of New Argive, which is one of the Terisian Isles on the plane of Dominaria.

History

During the Brothers' War and the Dark Age, the Flarg lay on what was then known as the Malpiri Plains. The Goblins of the Flarg were particularly active during the second era, raiding far south across the plains and through the Sardian Mountains and Kher Ridges, even spilling out into the plains of Giva Province.[1]

A few years after the Battle of Pitdown, Tivadar of Thorn rallied the Church of Tal around a new cause - the extermination of the goblin threat from the civilized lands. Aided by Rasputin Dreamweaver, Tivadar's Crusade lasted for years until the end of the Dark Age and the coming of the Ice Age. By then, the goblin hordes had been decimated, retreating into their northern abodes.

In the present day, the Flarg lies on the Balduvian Steppes, which was impacted by the Flooding of Terisiare. The Sea of Laments rose over the southwestern lands, almost turning Balduvia into a separate island from the rest of New Argive. The Flarg remained home to goblins through the Thaw, although the presence of the Balduvians and the limited access to the rest of the continent prevented the goblins from producing such large numbers as they did in those earlier days.

However, at some point after the Thaw, a game of goblin cricket escalated to the point where the two opposing factions known as the Raiders and the Packers exterminated each other, leaving only ruins to be excavated by representatives of the Argivian University. Thus, the threat of goblins of the Flarg was finally ended.[2]
