Tavoot's farm is a solitary agricultural homestead situated on the open Mercadian plains. Known primarily for its production of simsass fruit, the farm lies in an isolated area far from major settlements, making it largely self-reliant and dependent on the resilience of its owner and workers. Its remote location and modest scale give it little strategic importance under normal circumstances, yet it briefly became a focal point of significant events during the late Weatherlight Saga. The farm is owned and operated by Tavoot, who lives there with his young son, Atalla.
History
In 4205, Tavoot's farm and its fields of simsass fruit became the site of the crash landing of the Skyship Weatherlight. Farmer Tavoot and his 10-year-old son Atalla approached the surviving Weatherlight crew and gave them some basic information on the plane. Atalla saw it as an opportunity for adventure, but was denied the opportunity to join the crew by Gerrard Capashen due to his young age. However, when the Cho-Arrim used water magic to steal the ship away during the funeral service of those who had died in the crash, and a contingent of soldiers from Mercadia City came to arrest the crew, Atalla stowed away with them to the city. While there, he staged rescue operations of the crew twice, earning him and the farm a profit of 2,000 gold. Atalla intended to use the money to help the farm. With the reforms, they could bring back the forest and reintroduce water to the plains. With money, hard work, and courage, the dust flats could be changed back into rich farmland.[1]
