Shahrazad was a famous human storyteller from Rabiah, who used her cunning and vast knowledge of the histories to her advantage.

Description

Such was Shahrazad's renown that the merchants of Bassorah would call the strange items from other planes that often made their way to their stalls "Shahrazad's gifts", due to their uncanny tendency to fall into the hands of those who most need them.[1]

Behind the scenes

In One Thousand and One Nights, the inspiration for the set Arabian Nights, Scheherazade is the narrator and storyteller in the frame story. As a reference to the character telling stories-within-stories, Richard Garfield gave the card the ability to create a game within a game.[2] In the Edge, the homonymous cherazad is an event horizon that creates a distortion bubble of time, referencing Scheherazade's delaying her own death.[3]
