Abu Ja'far is a storyteller from Rabiah who has explored many worlds of Dominia in his lifetime. He was rarely detained by authorities, for his incurable leprosy makes him an unpopular prisoner. It is unknown by what means Abu Ja'far traveled to various worlds, but cross-planar portals existed specifically linked to Rabiah before the Mending.
