Storyline

“  The Multiverse Meets its Match  ”

The previous in-universe set Secrets of Strixhaven continues to build on the years-long story that started all the way back with Jace Beleren in Outlaws of Thunder Junction. Having been traumatized by the the suffering of the the New Phyrexian Invasion, Jace set about to right what he saw as to have gone wrong with the Multiverse. His mysterious plans started with freeing Loot from Maag Taranau. The small, fuzzy creature happens to have a map of all reality in his head, useful for multiverse spanning plots. That map led Jace to the Meditation Realm in Tarkir: Dragonstorm where Narset and Elspeth witnessed Jace conduct a ritual that went awry, consuming both Jace and the Realm. That leads us into Lorwyn Eclipsed, Secrets of Strixhaven, and the future.[7]

A teaser posted to DailyMTG.com includes the following line:[3]

“  Years of subtle machinations will finally shatter the facade, revealing a villain you'll have to see to believe.  ”

In response to rumors, Mark Rosewater confirmed that the Reality Fracture will not cross Magic's own lore with that of Universes Beyond.[8]
