The The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Story decks were released on Magic Arena on July 26, 2023.[1]

Fortunately, we've curated seven themed decks with cards from The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth™ as a fantastic way for players to start their journey in Middle-earth on MTG Arena.[1] | ” |
There were six Alchemy decks which consisted only of cards from the Tales of Middle-earth set, and one Historic Brawl deck which took advantage of an expanded card pool. Unlike the Story Decks released on Arena with Wilds of Eldraine, Lost Caverns of Ixalan and Murders at Karlov Manor which had dedicated Midweek Magic events, the Tales of Middle-earth decks were intended to be played in the normal Alchemy or Historic Brawl queues. There was, however, a The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth Constructed event held for Midweek Magic on July 04 2023[2] which the Story Decks were playable in.

The deck also features some other familiar faces like Elrond and Legolas. The deck features three different versions of Frodo and Gollum and two of Samwise. It has cards from climactic scenes, including the ambush of Shelob, the rescue of Frodo, Gollum's betrayal and tumble into Mount Doom, and the rescue of Frodo and Samwise by Landroval, one of the Great Eagles. Saruman's Descent
A deck which focuses on Saruman.
| “ | This deck follows the arc of Saruman from his meeting with Gandalf, where he first begins his trickery, to his defeat at the battle of Isengard and his eventual demise in the Shire at the hands of his follower Grima Wormtongue. This deck creates Orc Army tokens and steals abilities from the opponent. It has three versions of Saruman, two of which focus on when two spells have been played in a turn, and the third in which "Sharkey" shows his tyranny over your opponent's land. Sauron's Army
A deck focused on Sauron and the armies of Mordor.

The focus of this deck is to amass a large army of Orcs while using the powerful effects of the legendary creatures to make the Orc Army token grow faster or gain abilities like deathtouch.
