Loch Prith is an underground lake on Cridhe located through a secret entrance of the Westlands.

Description

Even after the Parting, Loch Prith kept its natural beaty, with several chambers of abundant wildlife, butterflies, bright fireflies called lumini, elves like Feryar and Thrissa, and the three weaving Gwylfan.[1]

History

After spending centuries at the court of Inys Nohr following her own prophetic visions, Thrissa returned to Loch Prith after giving birth to Nazir. Almost 30 years later, her husband Feryar arrived with Aylith of Inys Haen, a girl they named the Mender. Aylith went through several trials in the caves of Loch Prith - first, she was healed of her mortal wounds by the elven herbs and the magic of the Stream of Life. Then Aylith met with the Gwylfan, who told her more of her destiny, setting up her further trials. Aylith traveled into the darkness inside her and freed herself from it, though she did not manage to destroy it utterly. Her next task was then to leave Loch Prith, and on the way, she faced Raphos the blacksmith, who had become frozen at the time of his impending death. He almost killed her, but when he touched her flesh, he was healed of his hatred, and disintegrated. After the Mending of the Clan Tree, Feryar offered Loch Prith as a home to the mirkalbions, where they could stay and grow abundant ardré away from the bright world above.[1]
