Inga Rune-Eyes is the leader of the Omenseekers clan of humans from the realm of Bretagard on Kaldheim.[1]
Description
Inga is a blind seer with a strange white gaze but the ability to walk with confidence. Her eyes are clouded over with rune marks, after she sacrificed her sight to gain a different type of vision. She always seems distracted because she has sight beyond most mortals and her mind is inscribed with all the knowledge that her clan has acquired on its seafaring journeys.[2]
From her seat at the prow of the longship, Inga can lead her crew to any place an Omenseeker has ever set foot.
Widely respected among her people, there are none who would not lay down their life in order to protect her. Inga is somewhat uncomfortable with this level of devotion, so she uses her gift to best keep her people from harm.
History
Inga joined up with the planeswalker Kaya to hunt an extremely dangerous monster that already had caused destruction on the plane. This turned out to be none other than Vorinclex, one of New Phyrexia's praetors. Reaching Aldergard forest, the party engaged Vorinclex who almost managed to defeat them if not for Asi, one of the members of the party revealing himself to be Alrund, God of the Cosmos. Alrund used his magic to create a mystical barrier between Vorinclex and Inga's people and the praetor left Bretagard, with Kaya soon following.
Inga, along with the other leaders of the human Clans, lead the Bretagard armies against the invading army that swept open Omenpaths during Tibalt's Doomskar. And together with the other leaders, she agreed with King Harald that elves and humans must live in peace until the elves would manage to return to Skemfar.[3]
Phyrexian Invasion
A year ago, the god Esika barely survived an attack from a Phyrexian invader who stole some essence of the World Tree. Fast forward to now, when the Phyrexian Invasion Tree, grown from that very stolen essence, broke through into the Cosmos on Kaldheim. This intrusion by a corrupted version of the tree disoriented Esika to the point where she lost her sense of the Cosmos and could no longer navigate it. This was critical, as the other gods, embroiled in their own fights against the Phyrexians, were relying on her Cosmos Elixir to bolster their powers and keep them free of corruption. Esika's solution was to reach out to the one mortal she trusted would be able to help her: Inga Rune-Eyes, leader of the Omenseeker clan. With her unique gift of vision, Inga charts safe routes for Esika's chariot through the Cosmos, bringing the god wherever she's needed most.[4]
