Set
- Every card representing the Avatar in the Avatar State is colorless. This flavorfully represents how the Avatar State is depicted in the series as a consciousness only concerned with balance, which can only be controlled if its user lets go of all earthly attachments.[2]
Cards
- Abandon Attachments gives its caster the option to not discard a card, causing the spell to do nothing. This flavorfully mirrors how Aang rejected the lesson depicted in the card.
- Avatar Destiny is the first and currently only Universes Beyond card to be part of a mega cycle.
- Earth King's Lieutenant has the same triggered abilities as Thalia's Lieutenant, but cares about Allies instead of Humans.
- It'll Quench Ya! is a functional reprint of Quench.
- The name and flavor text of Jeong Jeong's Deserters incorrectly depict Jeong Jeong's followers as being fellow Fire Nation deserters when they were in fact an Earth Kingdom tribe led by Lin Yee who took him in, with Jeong Jeong himself and Chey being the only Fire Nation ex-pats among them.
- Meteor Sword is a mechanical reference to Meteor Golem, sharing its mana cost and enters ability.
- Misty Palms Oasis is the only card in the set that makes reference to Avatar media outside of The Last Airbender. Its flavor text mentions the oasis' "eventual glory," which is shown in The Legend of Korra.
- The rules text of Sokka's Haiku forms a haiku.
- The Walls of Ba Sing Se has the highest printed toughness of any eternal creature card, dethroning Ancient Adamantoise from Final Fantasy.
- Uniquely among cards in the set, Wartime Protestors depicts an apparently original scene. The art and flavor text describe a Fire Nation civil protest that is not mentioned in The Last Airbender.
- Zhao, the Moon Slayer's last ability is the same as that of Blood Moon, referencing the blood moon that Zhao created by restraining the moon spirit Tui.
- The Day of Black Sun (Spotlight Series) promo and the Black Sun's Zenith (Source Material) card depict exactly the same scene.
- This trait is shared with Energybending and Force of Negation (Source Material), although the difference in the two cards' artwork is much more obvious.
