The Summer Superdrop 2023 is a superdrop in in the Secret Lair product range and a continuation of the Secret Lair Drop Series. It is available for purchase from the Wizards of the Coast webshop secretlair.wizards.com from June 26 to August 28, 2023. The cards are shipped on August 29, 2023.
Description
The Superdrop contains seven drops. Buyers receive two The Brothers' War Collector Boosters for every $200 spent on Summer Superdrop 2023.
The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth is a tie-in with the Universes Beyond set The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth, released three days earlier. Based on the 1978 animated fantasy film The Lord of the Rings, this drop revisits the classic movie directed by Ralph Bakshi from the screenplay by Chris Conkling and Peter S. Beagle based on the novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien.[2]
There is also a drop in the Artist Series, featuring Ryan Alexander Lee.
The Death Is Temporary, Metal Is Forever is accompanied by the following poem:
- “Waste Not” by the Nekusar, the Mindrazer.
Syr Konrad, the Grim rode into war,
Upon a steed of shadow and pain.
The inhuman horde fell to his sword,
The ghasts and the ghouls had been slain.
But when the Mindrazer joined the fray,
Syr Konrad was unseated and fell.
Bound to the Wheel of Misfortune
And slowly dragged into hell.

The drops can be bought separately or in one of four bundles. The More Adventures in Middle-earth Bundle contains More Adventures in Middle-earth drop in foil and non-foil for $69.98. The Tearing Up A Sick Tube of Non-Foils Bundle contains all non-foils for $208.99. The Carving Up A Barrel of Foils Bundle (all foils) costs $278.99 and the Shredding A Wave of Everything Bundle combines the latter two for $488.99.
